Adsense Heat Map

I just found a great post about Adsense that I wanted to share with my readers. It's an actual heat map of where the best places to put Adsense ads are located.

As you're already aware, Adsense is a great way to earn extra income on your blog. I plan to make a video of how to put Adsense on either your Blogger blog or your Wordpress blog. It appears that one of the best places to put your Adsense ads are right in the content of your posts.

So, I'll test that one out and let you know what I come up with.

How To Get More Subscribers Without Spending Any More Money.

Sometimes you can just do a little bitty tweak in your online presentation and make a huge difference in your results.

With the same traffic you're already getting, suppose you could find a way to get twice or 3 times the amount of subscribers you're getting right now?

Now you already know:
  1. The money is in the list.
  2. You need to offer them something of value to get them to subscribe.
Since so many websites offer newsletters, you should be giving your specific target market something helpful and valuable to them that is an extension of what they're already interested in by being on your website to begin with:
  • E books
  • Videos
  • Mini courses
These are things you're probably already aware of, right?

So, let's get to the meat.

OK, there are several methods you see all the time to get people to opt in. There's:
  • A "newsletter" link somewhere at the top of the page or within the main navigation.
  • The form that's in the sidebar of the page.
  • The pop-up or pop-under or slide-in, or some other such "alert" type of form.
I have tested, and still use, all of these methods of getting subscribers and have gotten subscribers through each method. But, guess what gets me the most subscribers?

My autoresponder allows me to track literally everything:
  • How many people open my emails.
  • exactly where they opted in.
  • What time of the day they subscribed.
  • And countless other stats.
The #1 most effective opt-in method out of all of the methods I've tested is to put a subscribe form directly within the content of my web pages.

You see, when someone visits your website, chances are, they didn't come to subscribe to yet another email newsletter. They came for information. They came to read about something that you have written.

Therefore, this being the "attention age," you've got to get them while you have their attention.

If you're an affiliate marketer or a network marketer with a website, hopefully you have your site set up to pre-sell and to educate your potential customers about various topics of interest.

Therefore, you have content provided to entice people to hang around and actually read what you have on your website. So, if you've captured their interests with your content, what better chance do you have to get them to sign up for more valuable content?

Make your list a way for them to get more of what they came for in the first place.

How To Get Quality Backlinks To Your Afffiliate Website.

To have a successful affiliate website, you must have traffic. If your target market doesn't find your site, you don't make affiliate commissions. Simple enough, right?

Do you know what the most important factor in SEO is? It's not:
  • Title tags
  • Keyword placement and density
  • tags
  • Description
While all of these on-page SEO tactics are certainly important and should no doubt be used, the most important part of your SEO strategy is:

Backlinks To Your Affiliate Website

Especially important in the search engine ranking algorithms are high quality one way links to your site. This means that another site is linking to you without asking you top link to them in return.

You should still continue to trade links with other relevant websites, but do it at a steady, slow pace.

Meanwhile, the one way links are much more powerful in getting your site ranked higher in the search engines.

How do I get a link to my site without having to link back?

I'm going to show you a few easy methods you can use right now to get the one way backlinks:
Keep in mind that wherever possible, you want to use anchor text (e.g. Affiliate Marketing Help) as opposed to a raw link (e.g. http://www.LetsStartEarning.com). This will help your rankings for your specific keywords. But don't just go out and get 100 links pointing to your site with the same keyword phrase. Mix it up between 3-4 different phrases that you want to rank for. The search engines love this.

Now, let's take a peek at each method I mentioned for obtaining quality, one way links.

Social Bookmarking
Places like Digg, Stumble Upon, and Technorati allow you to submit "stories" for bookmarking as well as getting them in front of other eyeballs. Here you can use anchor text as well as providing a keyword rich description of your content.

A word of caution. Use these with the utmost respect. Don't go in there and simply spam these sites with every single page of your site and every insignificant blog post you ever make. Only submit quality content. Remember, this is a social media, have respect for your peers.

Article Submission
Every article you write should be submitted to some of the highest ranking article directories. Just make sure you write useful articles otherwise they may just get deleted by some or your reputation as an "expert" will suffer.

You usually can't use anchor text here but your raw links are, just the same, high quality one way links to your affiliate website. Remember to put your articles in your blog as well.

Forum Signatures
Find a couple of forums you like that are related to your industry and create a signature that links back to your affiliate website(s) using compelling anchor text that is also relevant to your keywords.

Each time you post, BAM... a one way link. Again, as with any social medium, have respect. Don't just post for the sake of posting. Contribute useful information in forums, your reputation depends on it.

Link Bait
This just means that you want to create great content that people just automatically want to link to. Link bait can be in the form of:
  • Articles (you want people to use your articles on their websites or blogs)
  • Blog posts
  • Web pages. The more content filled your site is, the easier it will be to get backlinks. Not to mention, it will make people want to stay, subscribe, come back.
Blog Posts
Every time you post to your blog you need to link back to relevant content on your site. Not necessarily the home page but whichever page applies. In Blogger, you'll add it in the "link" field as well as linking back to your site with relevant text within the post.

Again, don't stop reciprocal linking, it counts too. But make sure you make a solid effort to get as many one-way links as you can.

What is "Link Bait and How Do I Create It?"

This is a cool term that I picked up in an intense Webmaster's forum. I

fancy myself a reasonably talented SEO marketer. I've never used Google

Adwords or any other PPC advertising and I'm well-schooled on

traditional as well as Web 2.0 search engine optimization strategies.

I can definitely say that Web 2.0 methods are a lot easier and a lot

more fun than the tedious traditional methods.

What is the #1 thing that you need to get higher rankings in the search

engines?

Backlinks to your site.

The more links to your site, the better your rankings, in a nutshell.

There are of course other factors such as the linking site's pagerank,

whether or not it's a reciprocal link, and the anchor text used--just

to name a few of the biggies.

So what exactly is this "link bait" and how do you make it?

Link bait is the kind of content that makes people want to link to it

naturally. No link trading, nothing in return. Just content so good

that people just want to be connected with it somehow.

So how do you create this kind of content that we call link bait? Well,

you can give them what they were looking for such as news and solid

information. If you become known as a reliable source of information,

people will link to you whether they use your articles, link to you

from their blogs, or bookmark you in the social bookmarking sites for

example.

Another way to create link bait is to stir your reader's emotion. Make

them laugh, make them angry, scare them. Post the kind of content that

makes people say: "Did you read so and so's article? I can't believe

she said THAT!"

Create a controversy, if you can back up what you're saying on the

matter. Go against the grain. It's ok to have your own opinions. As

long as they're well-founded, you should tell the world about them.

That is what the "new web" is all about.

Now go start a commotion or share your wealth of knowledge and create

some instant link bait.
